"Trucas"

I did this painting last year on the day of my marathon paintout.  The photo was taken at a gallery in Trucas (on the High Road from Chimayo to Taos) and I just couldn't help but paint it.  The day of the marathon, I started at 5:30 a.m. and ended at 9:00 p.m., never getting up from the easel except to get a drink of water.  LOVED it!

I am amazed at the lavendar in the landscapes in New Mexico.  Every time I see them, of course,

I have to paint them.  I love lavendar!
